Molding Expertise
Nypro customers expect the company to offer a seamless connection along the
supply chain, from product development to mold design and building to injection
molding and assembly. To meet this customer requirement, Nypro added mold
building to our services in 1984. Today, Nypro offers mold building at 11
separate locations around the world.
Altogether, Nypro built more than 1500 molds last year. About 75% of these were
built in-house-the remainder were built by specialized mold-building shops,
following strict Nypro guidelines, all over the world. In total, there are 200
tool designers and 800 moldmakers within the Nypro network of companies.
Globally, Nypro is one of the world's ten largest mold makers.
Nypro's flagship mold building operations are NyproMold, a joint venture
company located on the first two floors of the company's $15 million Technology
Center at Corporate Headquarters; and Nypro HongKongMold, a joint venture at
Nypro's China Regional headquarters.

Mold building at Nypro offers the most modern state-of-the-art facilities in
the world, including dozens of CAD/CAM stations connected online globally; CNC
machines; fully robotized tool building equipment; on site Mold Flow analysis
and mold sampling. Products offered range from single-cavity prototypes to
multi-cavity runnerless molds to a variety of bi-component and stack molds,
primarily for molding machines under 500 tons of clamping pressure.
